The Fifth Annual Tour de Trails Bike Challenge is Saturday, May 15, 2009. Riders start at Mill Race Park in Columbus, Indiana beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Save some gas and burn some rubber!  To celebrate May as National Biking Month, come out and join us for a great day of cycling at your pace! You can choose the 20K course that will take you on a scenic tour of our city on our People Trails. Enjoy fun SAG stops with entertainment for children and plenty of snacks & drinks. For those with a longer ride in mind, choose the 50k course for a combination of city and county scenery freeing your mind from everyday worries. This route will take you to Simmons Winery for entertainment, wine tasting and plenty of snacks.

And for the REALLY serious cyclists, we have added a new 75K hilly trek throughout the hills of Bartholomew and Brown counties. See Pikes Peak, Grandview and Harrison Lakes. Swap cycling stories at the famous Story Inn where you can enjoy lunch and entertainment. But that's not all. The good folks at the Story Inn are offering special lodging rates to Tour de Trail riders.

Begin your tours with a smoothie made specifically for this event by our friends at Tropical Smoothie Café.  Stick around for drawings for some awesome prizes. All proceeds directly support maintenance and expansion of the Columbus People Trails, which connect cyclists, runners and walkers throughout Columbus, Indiana and may connect to other communities in the future.
